Alastair Greene, Guitar for Alan Parsons Live Project

Back in the glory days of music, bands like The Beatles and Pink Floyd have made music that stands the test of time and that belongs to the cultural heritage of modern music.

Alan Parsons was there, right from the beginning being as assistant engineer for the Beatles at the Abbey Road studios as well as being the main engineer on Pink Floyd's masterpiece "Dark Side of the Moon".

Then,  in 1975, he formed the Alan Parsons Project that consisted of a revolving group of studio musicians and vocalists spawning timeless classics like "The Eye in the Sky", "Don't answer me" or the epic "La Sagrada Familia".

More recently, Hughes & Kettner is of course thrilled when Alastair Greene, guitarist for the Alan Parsons Live Project contacted us regarding our award winning TubeMeister series.

Alastair has come in contact with a TubeMeister 18 on the recent Alan Parsons Live Project US tour and has been excited about the sound and versatility of the TubeMeister series.
Using In-ear monitoring and 5-part vocal harmonies, the stage volume with this production is very low and his former 100Watt amp was just not at the right working point to make the tone come alive. The TubeMeister with its build in Power Soak was the perfect solution to get that power amp saturation on a lower volume.

Yesterday, on the 19th of March 2013, Hughes & Kettner was invited to visit the show at the Phönix Halle in Mainz to hear and see Alastair and the TubeMeister 36 in action. Being a fantastic guitar player, Alastair, Alan and the band (lead singer P.J. Olsson, drummer Danny Thompson, keyboardist Manny Focarazzo, bass guitarist Guy Erez and vocalist and saxophonist Todd Cooper) delivered a stunning performance that the audience appreciated with many standing ovations during the show.
A very warm welcome from Alastair, band and crew and a compliment from Mr. Alan Parsons on the sound for the TubeMeister was the icing on the cake of a wonderful evening.

If you have the chance, go check out Alan Parsons Live Project fantastic music and performance that has and will stand the test of time.
