| 1984 was a very special year in our company’s history. Stamer products had earned a good reputation in large parts of Germany and the time had come to chart the future course of our company. We were determined to conquer the international market and worked out a branding strategy that took into account the conventions of a market in which English and American companies figured prominently. So we brainstormed the brand name Hughes & Kettner. Today a synonym for the most advanced instrument amplifiers, the name is known worldwide. The electric guitar has been the banner instrument of popular music for decades. Guitarists and bass players may well be the world’s most unforgiving critics. |
Does any other collective of kindred spirits take such a long, hard look at engineering advances? None comes to mind. Satisfying steel-string slingers is a daunting challenge, but we rose to it! Our close ties to practicing musicians, willingness to embrace emerging technologies, and intense engineering efforts have yielded considerable achievements: Throughout our history, we have succeeded in forging superior amps and sound-shaping tools. Hughes & Kettner excels at designing devices that deliver huge tone, exhilarating performance and smart features that inspire players everywhere. |
All over the globe, our brand name is synonymous with superior sound in every price class. With artists from Aerosmith to ZZ Top and Elton John to the Murder Dolls plugging into our gear, Hughes & Kettner amps are mainstays of the world’s stages. Our mindset is informed by the progress principle. Today we’re pushing hard to develop new concepts and turn up tomorrow’s trailblazing products to satisfy the ever more discerning demands of ever savvier musicians. |
